My Reaction to Steven Spielberg’s film “Disclosure Day”

I have just finished watching Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, and the movie profoundly affected me. I left the theater and began writing this immediately, while my emotions are still raw, sitting in my car. The suspenseful plot is gripping, but what truly impacted me were the truths in the story that confirmed my own experiences. What struck me most were the kernels of truth within the film. These were not revelations but confirmations.
I want to avoid spoilers, so I won’t reveal the plot. However, even the trailer shows the lead actress, Emily Blunt, entering a trance and channeling an otherworldly voice through tongue clicks that resemble Morse code. Josh O’Connor’s character decodes the clicks, translating them into English. The film portrays mediumship as a bridge of communication between the otherworlders and humans.
About 80% into the movie, a woman kneels before Emily Blunt’s character and crosses herself. Blunt immediately responds: “Do not create a religion around me.” I recall using a similar phrase in my book My First Encounter with an Angel. Awan said these exact words to me in the mid-1990s.
Awan: I am an unknown friend. Because of past experiences, I have decided to keep my identity to myself. In the past, after humans had spoken with angels, they had put us on a pedestal, turned us into minor deities, and then bombarded us with prayers and wishes to be fulfilled. I do not desire to be worshiped, nor do I wish to be at anyone’s beck and call. Neither do I wish to be the inspiration for the start of another religion. There are already more than twelve thousand different religions in existence.[1]
During the movie, the audience sees a video of aliens, some dead and some alive. They looked exactly as Carl described them when he told the story of his abduction when he was only 5 years old!
These entities looked unlike anyone on Earth. Small-bodied, with short limbs, they had large, non-round, moist, shiny, deep-brown eyes without a white sclera. Their ears were holes; they had small mouths. I never heard them speak to each other—they seemed to use telepathy. They varied slightly in height but were all short, child-sized. Their tight, seamless silver-gray clothing looked painted on, with no visible fasteners.
There were holes where their ears should be, but there was no place to support a pair of eyeglasses. Their mouths were tiny. I also realized I had never heard them talk to one another. They must have used telepathy to communicate. They were not identical; there were small differences among the three of them. They were different heights, but all were short compared to us. They were very short and, to me, appeared about two years old, the size of small children. Their clothes were a sliver-gray and fit as tightly as a stocking, with no seams, as if they were painted on their bodies. There were no lines in their clothes, such as where we button our shirts or the top of our pants.[2]
Disclosure Day features a video of the UFO crash at Roswell, New Mexico, and the recovered alien bodies, dated July 7, 1947. I didn’t know that date, but it stood out because Carl’s first GOTSC service and JZ Knight’s first encounter with Ramtha both occurred on July 7, 1977. I don’t think July 7th is a coincidence.
Seeing truths I recognized presented to the world was profoundly moving, especially because the movie’s theme was universal truth-sharing. Spielberg revealed details about beings from other planets visiting Earth and emphasized that empathy and telepathy were essential for communication.
I saw videos and read critical reviews of Disclosure Day, which claim it fell short of Spielberg’s other films. I strongly disagree. I urge everyone to see it, as it holds many layers of truth for those prepared to perceive them.
