Daniel Dunglas Home was born in 1833 in Currie, Scotland. His parents moved to Norwich, Connecticut, when he was young. While still a young boy, his friend died, and Daniel discovered he was a medium when he spoke with his deceased friend.

Daniel developed physical mediumship. He could materialize objects and even levitate. As a young adult, he moved to England. It is documented that Daniel once levitated out of a 2nd story window of a corner London apartment and flew outside around the corner to re-enter the apartment. His astounding feats of mediumship brought him to the attention of important people. Daniel held seances for several monarchs of Europe.
