Physical mediumship has a very powerful effect upon people who witness it, because everyone present is able to appreciate the phenomena. When witnessing mental mediumship, the observer watchs the medium and can hear what he or she says. However, only the medium is directly hearing, seeing, or feeling the Spirit. In physical mediumship the phenomena occur within the human range of physical frequencies, therefore, everyone present observes the phenomena.
One type of physical mediumship is called direct voice, where physical people can directly hear the voices of Spirit. There are two methods Spirit can produce this. The first method is called independent voice. Spirit withdraws ectoplasm (spiritual energy) from the medium and forms and voice box, which is suspended in the air. Then Spirit uses this voice box to directly speak to the people.
The Bible is a history book of psychic phenomena. The laws which govern psychic science have never changed. Therefore, the phenomena produced in Biblical times can and is still produced today. Here is an example of independent voice from the Bible
After Moses and Elijah materialized and spoke with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, Spirit spoke to Peter and John and James, through the psychic gift of Independent Voice.
|
And while he said these things, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my Son, my chosen: hear ye him.
Luke 9:34-35 [ASV]. |
|
The fact the Bible mentions a cloud was present indicates the presence of ectoplasm. Spirit utilized an ectoplasmic voice box (independent voice) to speak to Jesus and his three disciples.
Trumpet mediumship is similar to Independent Voice. Spirit makes a voice box out of ectoplasm. This time, however, the voice box is placed with a long medal cone, to amplify the voice. In biblical times the trumpets were made of silver.
|
And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them: and thou shalt use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.
Numbers 10:1 [ASV]. |
|
Today the cones called trumpets are made of aluminum. The trumpet amplifies the voice produced by spirit, similar to a megaphone.
It is interesting that a trumpet is very much like a telephone to the Spirit World. When some one places a telephone call to you, you have no problem recognizing who is calling because you recognize his or her voice. It matters not if the caller is located in New York City, London, Paris or Tokyo the voice of the caller will sound almost identical.
When one listens to the voices that come from the trumpet, each spirit has their own unique voice. I have had the privilege to speak with the same spirit through 4 different trumpet mediums. The voice of the spirit sounds identical, no matter which of the mediums is allowing this phenomena to occur.
However, I have also had the privilege to speaking with my father, two years after he transitioned to the Spirit World. While I cannot say the voice sounded identical to my father’s physical voice, I can testify that the pronunciation, etymology, usage of words and phrases were my father’s. I did speak with him, and heard him with my own physical ears.
It is fascinating that almost everyone knows of an important message that was delivered through trumpet mediumship, yet hardly anyone realizes that medium was employed to deliver this message. In Exodus chapter 19 we discover that God spoke the Ten Commandments through a trumpet to the Hebrews.
|
And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
Exodus 19:19 [KJV]. |
|
Two verses later (Exodus 20:1) God begins to speak the Ten Commandments. There is proof that the Hebrews heard God's voice.
|
And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightings, and the voice of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they trembled, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
Exodus 20:18-19 [ERV] |

To listen to an audio recording of a trumpet reading given through the mediumship of Rev. Dan Taggert at Camp Silver Belle click on the picture of Moses and the trumpets on the right.
The first spirit you will hear is Moonbeam, who is the master of ceremonies, and introduces each spirit speaker. Moonbeam is a joy spirit, a spirit who spends their existence as a child, and uses humor to keep the raising the energy, allowing the session to continue. |
