Master Mediums

Have you ever tried to stare at a single object for a long time?  Your mind becomes board, and begins to play tricks on you. It doesn’t want to focus on just one object, so extraneous thoughts start darting across your mind to distract you from what your eyes are focused upon.

Setting a goal can be like that too. You can become so focused on the goal, that you begin to miss other things in your peripheral vision. My goal in the last few years is to develop platform mediumship. It is not an easy task to do, for a good medium needs to utilize many skills, not one at a time, but simultaneously. Not only does the medium have to hone his or her sensitivity to be able to sense or feel those who reside in the Spirit World, he or she must then learn how to present the information in a way that will hold an audienceís attention. Then the student medium has to learn how to increase his/her energy to be in communication with Spirit, and learn to ask Spirit questions while s/he holds a conversation with a physical person in the congregation. For if the flow of communication bogs down, so does the energy, and the link with the Spirit can come to a screeching halt, leaving the medium without anything further to say. All of this is a lot to juggle, at one time.

Therefore, when one has the opportunity to watch a medium who has mastered all these skills, it is a truly wonderful opportunity. I have just finished watching one of Lisa Williams’ new television shows. I must admit I was rather moved by it. She seems so natural and comfortable, as if she is just sitting and talking with a client. However, she is truly a master at what she does. She brings forth and builds the evidence, proving the identity of the spirit communicator to the sitter. What is truly remarkable is watching the sitters react to the evidence; to watch how the sitter recognizes each piece, until at the end of the reading there is not one shred of doubt that Lisa has contacted the person she claimed.

What is so wonderful is that it has all been captured on videotape, so that there is a permanent record of this wonderful communication between the two worlds. Imagine what a student artist would give to be able to watch Monet paint his famous Waterlillies. Those of us, who are developing our mediumship, can watch and study a great master, do her work, and then rewind it and watch it again.

I hope you will take the time to watch Lisa’s shows on the Internet. [You just have to click on the link on the homepage of our website: www.gotsc.org.]

If you find mediumship inspiring, you will truly be enamored with her work. Furthermore, it will be a good warm-up for those of you who are planning to see Val Williams, when she visits Gifts of the Spirit Church next month. Val is also a master-medium, who can juggle all those skills so effortlessly, that she makes you think that mediumship is simple to do? She is an inspiriting person, and I am sure you will gain much from seeing her work, and asking her questions at the forum that will follow our Sunday service on December 14, 2008. I hope that you can join us for this exciting event.  Gifts of the Spirit Church has not had a medium of this caliber since the days when Carl would regularly give Spirit messages at the weekly services.
