Christmas Message 1985

  From Your Pastor

When each of us is born into the world, we are given an eternal candle, a small tight that has a potential to grow into a shining flame. Each individual or keeper of the light is solely responsible for his own flame, and the quality of its luminescence is dependent upon the deeds that are performed during the lifetime of the keeper.

We often light a wax candle in our home or in our temple or church, rather than lighting the torch that is within each of us. We strike a match to tight this candle, then walk away, hoping that the tight will do someone or something some good.

This year let each of us light the eternal flame that is within us. Let it shine out and touch everyone we meet. This will keep the flame glowing through out the whole year of 1986. Let us learn to love each other instead of judging each other. Learn to focus on the God light within your neighbor rather than concentrating on your neighbor faults or mistakes.

For as Jesus the Christ said in the Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 5, verse 16: "Let your tight shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

May Spirit always walk with you in the light.

A Spiritual Farmer

When a man chooses to become a farmer, he begins a task that is not easy. He never knows whether the growing season will be wet or dry, hot or cold. This insurmountable job will take twelve to fifteen hours a day, without any time off.

The same conditions exist with the planting of knowledge such as the Gifts of the Spirit. Since planting the first seed in 1977, we have seen a most wonderful and abundant crop come forth. But we still need more planters to plant spiritual seeds.

The difference between the farmer who plants produce and the farmer who plants spiritual knowledge is the type of seed he uses. The produce farmer uses seeds from the previous crop to plant his new crop in the soil of the earth. He risks the chances of nature that will either yield the crop or cause it to fail before the harvest.

The Spiritual farmer uses only words of truth, words of love, words of understanding and knowledge as he plants his crop in the mind of his fellow man. The produce farmer must plant his seeds every year and tend the crops in order to have food for the flesh body. This food can only be stored up for a very limited time. But when the spiritual farmer properly plants his seeds in the mind of his fellow man, the food he yields will feed the soul, and spirit. This food nurtures all growth in this life and in the next life. When a man chooses to become a farmer, he begins a task that is not easy. He never knows whether the growing season will be wet or dry, hot or cold. This insurmountable job will take twelve to fifteen hours a day, without any time off.

It is important for every spiritual farmer to know that what comes out of your mouth is far more important that goes into your mouth. Every word you speak is a seed. A positive word or seed can grow and be nurtured in another’s mind and multiply love, brotherhood, and understanding for all. A negative word or seed can be destructive, and cause the undermining of all that is good. The seeds you plant, regardless of where you plant the, are your own. After they are released from you, and wander around in the world of either, they eventually seek out and return to their planter. So plant only the seeds you want in your own garden, and your world here will take on a better meaning. Plant spiritual seeds and the life beyond the grave will be most beautiful, simply because you have planted spiritual seeds, tended a spiritual crop, and have walked hand-in-hand with the angels and archangels who have walked the same path.
